My favourite OS
On most computers I own, Solus runs.

What do I exactly like about it?
- It's not based on another distro but built from scratch. It's blazingly fast.
- It just works
- A lot of prebuilt software is available from the eopkg repository
- Rolling release with a fast release cicle, kernel updates are a matter of few days
Drawbacks
- If you're running it on a notebook, WiFi card drivers can be a hassle
- x68_64 only
I tried other OS, but I always came back. openSuse, pop_OS, Linux Mint (or to be precise LMDE3) just can't reach that level of quality that Solus provides.
There's only one OS that hooked me like Solus did, and that's postmarketOS. I run it on my PineBook (with Sway) as well as on my PinePhone.
I really recommend checking it out: getsol.us
A possible upcoming alternative is SerpentOS, which is developed by a part of the team that was responsible for Solus. SerpentOS plans to relase aarch64 builds from the very beginning.
It's still a work in progress, you can check it out here: serpentos.com
